Ёжик — Who is who

There aren’t any leaders in antiglobalism movement. But they have one idol and ideologist. His name is subdominant Marcos.

At the 1st January 1994 Sapatists’ Army of National Liberation occupied Mexican and San-Cristobel without a single shoot. They opened the prisons and let prisoners go; they gave products from local shops to people and then returned to the mountains. They all were Maya American Indians, except of their white commander, who was joking all the time. It was subdominant Marcos. This name has become famous in the entire world in last eight years, when his army occupied Mexican state Chiapas without fighting. They canceled private votes for land, declared it as a dry state. Mexican government was to put up with them.

When Marcos sprang up in the Mehico, he was greeted by half a million people with the most famous Latin American writer Gabriel Garcia Marces in the head. Even during his performance in parlament, he hadn’t taken his black mask off. He is very mysterious. He rides a horse, wears a gun behind his back, there is a pipe in his teeth and notebook with modem fixed on horses saddle. He says that he is 519 years old, he is half-breed, he has forgotten his old name and his new name he has taken from his dead friend. He rejects any violence. “We are going to do our cause until nobody will need masks and guns”, he says. And he also considers that anybody, who put on a mask and stands against globalism becomes subdominant Marcos.
